In 1958, when I was 17 I joined with a few pals to form a Rock'n'Roll band. We called ourselves 'The Shadows' and performed at local clubs and Dance Halls in Portsmouth U.K. In 1959 'Cliff Richard and the Drifters' changed their name to 'Cliff Richard and The Shadows'. I had a few words with Jet Harris and a laugh about it! So we became 'Ricky and the Teenbeats' and later 'Danny and The Raiders' My role was vocals with a few lead guitar slots. I got engaged in 1963 to my lovely wife and left the band.
