KÓBOYKEX

Kóboykex are a newly formed Faroese western/electro duo which includes Sigmund and Heiðrik á Heygum. Sigmund and Heiðrik come from two very different musical backgrounds yet both are very prominent musicians in the Faroese music scene. Sigmund is known for his many rock/punk projects and especially his critically acclaimed punk band Joe & the Shitboys. Heiðrik is known for his crooner voice and his melancholic indie pop albums which has made him a household name on the islands. Yet Sigmund and Heiðrik have chosen to team up together and the result is Kóboykex. Kóboykex debut EP is a new twist to the country/western genre which takes inspiration from Beck, Ennio Morricone, Patsy Cline, The White Stripes, Mirwais to old spaghetti westerns. A mix between country and electronica - a genre they call Countronica.
